This year is a Chinese Fire Rooster Year. Coincidentally 1957, the year I was born was also a Fire Rooster year.
Modesty prevents me from saying that characteristics I have found when researching advise that Fire Roosters are very observant, hardworking, resourceful, courageous, talented, honest and loyal and exhibit their charm on any occasion. Roosters also like to brag, and sometimes annoy people around them.
Furthermore I now read with interest that Rooster years are not auspicious years for Roosters, indeed one source advises that it is the most unlucky year in the 12 year cycle. Unlucky numbers this year are 1, 3 and 9 (we travel on the 1st April) unlucky months are the 3rd, 9th and 12th (April is the 3rd month of the Chinese year) and the unlucky direction is east.
I suppose it could be said that the direction from Gower to China is more south east than east, so that is one problem alleviated, but to remedy the remainder I had better make sure that I am wearing something gold, yellow or brown during the trip for some good luck. I will also make sure that I take any opportunity to obtain gladioli in an effort to restore the balance.
I don’t know what more to say.
